THIS MONDAY – TRAFFIC SAFETY FORUM @ 7PM

St. Johns’ diversity, small town feel, and role as a freight/commuter corridor all inherently present very different traffic safety truths and experiences among neighbors. It is important all residents have the opportunity to be heard and acknowledged as we consider people’s safety and appropriate neighborhood comfort in each area of our large community. Within this context the St. Johns Neighborhood Association is hosting a Transportation/Traffic Safety Forum for the benefit and well-being of neighbors from all backgrounds and experiences.

Special Guests:
Ana Jovanovic – Oregon Department of Transportation
Margie Bradway – Portland Bureau of Transportation
Tina Kotek – Oregon State House of Representatives, District 44

St. Johns Community Center
7PM | Monday, Nov. 14th

SEP 6 – EPA SUPERFUND CLEAN-UP PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD ENDS

Portland Harbor is a 10-mile, 2,200-acre toxic site. In 2000, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) labeled it a Superfund site—a location contaminated by hazardous waste and identified on the national priority list for cleanup. The harbor, the Willamette River and its shores provide food for our families, jobs for our community, recreational opportunities, tribal and commercial fishing, and a rich source of culture and beauty. Now, more than 15 years later, the EPA has proposed to cleanup just 8% of a site that is 100% toxic.
